Timing. Never Early. Never Late.
Ever wonder what the purpose of something is or why things are timed the way they are? In some situations, you can see how important the timing is.
To realize the value of one YEAR ask a student who failed a grade
To realize the value of one MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby
To realize the value of one DAY, ask the person who was born on February 29th.
To realize the value of one HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one MINUTE, ask the person who missed the train.
To realize the value of one MILLISECOND, ask the person who won a sliver medal in the olympics.
We don’t realize the value time, until that time is tested and we are made to wait. In the moment, we often don’t see the importance of timing and the purpose behind it, but as the examples above mentioned, the amount of time, can create a huge impact. It is hard to fully understand what it means to trust Him even when we may not understand it.
In Luke, we read the prayers of Elizabeth that spanned over years, with her husband crying out on her behalf. Hope was lost so many times in the longest season of no answers. For years they walked a journey of faith without sight. Yet they walked on. Everyday. They chose to keep pressing on. To keep going. To keep praying. Every day they chose to believe that the God they knew to be good, was good. — And after the longest of seasons, a promise was fulfilled at the appointed time. They perfect time. His time. All of that waiting so their son could prepare the way for Christ. So his parents could bring forth a son who would carry the holy spirit and power of Elijah. It would be their son that would stare into the face of our Saviour, that would bring hearts to beautiful surrender. God had always planned for it to be their son. All along. — Yet if a child had come at any other time, this is not the story their lives would have written. This is a blessing they would never have known. Sometimes the longest seasons of waiting are for the greatest seasons of blessings. In perfect timing. And so when we cannot see, we must walk. We must pray. We must believe. — He is good all the time. And all the time he is good.
John and Jesus were 6 months apart. We must trust in God’s timing. John had to be born at that time so the he could proclaim Jesus. Elizabeth had to wait for her son for years.
Rest in this:
your current joy, defeat, trial, pain, mountain, brokenness, pit, victory - - your current situation is apart of God’s divine plan. Everything you’re experiencing serves a purpose. Whether it is in sight or not. Your ‘now’ will serve for a ‘then’. Embrace it. Trust in it. Learn to thrive on it. He will never forsake you.
Please know, please believe:
You have value. You have potential. You are beautiful. You are loved. You have purpose.
God is still good, regardless of the situations that we are placed in.
